2018 the 100th year
Preparations continue for the vast programme of events taking place to celebrate the Royal Air Force’s 100th birthday.
Throughout this year the RAF will be asking the public to join in celebrating the history of the RAF and all those who have served in it. From the earliest veterans in the First World War, through to ‘The Few’ of the Battle of Britain, right up to those who have recently left, the RAF will highlight the commitment and sacrifice these men and women have made in service to their country.

The key events for RAF100 kicked off on 31 March with a celebratory concert at the Royal Albert Hall, followed by more celebrations on 1 April.
After a service at St Clement Danes in London, the RAF100 Baton relay was launched. The baton will make its away around the UK and the world, visiting sites important to the RAF and visiting local communities. The relay will finish on 10 July 2018, 100 days after the 1 April at Westminster Abbey.
Here a service for the RAF will take place, after which a parade will take place along the Mall culminating in the largest flypast in recent memory.
